Synopsis:
Welcome to the Frisky Bean
Coffee to Wake you Up
Pastries to Turn you On
Listen… My daily goddess card tried to warn me that a big change was coming. She did. But… I was still not prepared for the impact that he would have on my life. That day when we met, I quite literally fell into him.
It was mortifying. It was exhilarating.
It was totally unprofessional. It was hot.
While our actions and bodies were most definitely aligned, our intentions were not. How so, you ask?
Well, I was blissfully busy pursuing my goals for my new café, The Frisky Bean. I did not ask, nor have the time, to deal with complications. And, since I felt as though we were both falling hard, all seemed well-blended.
That right there was mistake number one through five thousand, because he has no understanding of love and my goddess cards have some explaining to do.
Here’s what I know… Sometimes even the best recipes flop while a recipe riddled with mistakes can yield unexpected perfection. What were we?
A freaking delight. Stop asking me and read our story.
Don’t forget your oven mitts because one thing we were very good at is bringing the heat. (Courtesy of Amazon.)
What is a favorite compliment you have received on your writing?
My favorite compliment every time I hear it is that someone was having a rough day, and one of my romcoms helped them turn it around by getting them to laugh. I love bringing happiness into people's lives. It's why I love writing high-heat, low-angst romantic comedies. Especially Jewish ones. I love bringing more sexy, casual Jewish joy into the world.

What is one thing you would tell the debut novelist version of yourself?
What I would say to young, starting-out, author me would be that no story is everyone's cup of tea, but there are tea drinkers out there who will totally appreciate your blend, so continue to write what you love and find your tea drinkers. Also... stay away from long metaphors.
If the Frisky Bean series were made into a TV series, who would you cast in the leading roles?
Leading roles. Wow. As someone who has aphantasia, it's often hard for me to picture actors, the way so many do, visually inhabiting the roles. That said, Jason was loosely based on Chris Hemsworth in appearance, so that one was easy. Summer could have been a young rom-com era Debra Messing or Amy Adams.
What is the last book you read that you would recommend?
The last book I read that I would recommend because she is one of my favorite authors is Live, Love, Spy by Lexi Blake. The Lexiverse is one of my favorite places to visit when I read.
What is your favorite autumn dessert?
My favorite autumn dessert is tough to choose so I'm going to have to go with two; Pumpkin Cheesecake and Honey Cake. Yum!
If your life was a TV series, which celebrity would you want to narrate it?
My life narrator would probably be Sandra Bullock. She has the seriousness mixed with the comedy chops and a healthy dose of sarcasm to do a fantastic job.

Michelle Mars sounds like such a vibrant and relatable author! Her passion for bringing joy through her writing really shines through, and I love the idea of a rom-com set in a café—definitely adds a cozy charm!
both
Coffee in the morning-tea before bed.
I have long felt that I should treat people based on who I am, rather than on who they are. I hold myself to a higher standard. Not to say I am without fault sometimes but this way I never have to compromise my own standards.
