Today we are pleased to welcome Linsey J. Cross to CLC! Her debut novel, Amy's Big Break, published this past summer. It sounds like a fun, chick-lit treat and we're excited to share it with you. Linsey has one copy for a lucky reader!
Linsey is a mother of two young children and has a full time job in telecoms. She does her writing by night and has a second novel in the works.

Synopsis:
Amy is left devastated after a breakup with her boyfriend. Stuck in a dead-end job, with no sunshine to be seen, she’s suddenly given the opportunity to go on a holiday of a lifetime. With her best friend Steph by her side, the rebound search is on. But has she found more than what she was looking for? (Courtesy of Amazon.)

How did you decide to write chick lit?
I find it's much easier to write about what you know about and what you can relate to. And for me, chick lit is feel good. I want to make people feel good and laugh out loud!

How is Amy similar to or different from you?
I think there are definitely elements of me (especially the twenty-something me) that have crept into Amy. For instance, the dancing and the cocktails, this is definitely me and my bestie! And we're still like it now, when we manage to get a night out together! I think Amy is braver than me though.
If Amy's Big Break were made into a movie, who would you cast in the leading roles?
Ooh...
Amy - Kaya Scodelario
Steph - Emma Rigby
Alex - Gregg Sulkin (Yes please!)
How do you find balance between full-time work, motherhood, and writing?
It is hard. Obviously motherhood and work come first and I have to squeeze in writing in my free time. If I can stay up past putting the kids to bed, then evening is the best time for me to write, because there are no distractions. But half of the time I end up falling asleep putting them to bed!
What TV series are you currently binge watching?
Emily in Paris - love it!
What is your go-to breakfast item?
My go to is usually a bowl of honey flakes. But if I can be bothered to put a little more effort in, I much prefer some Greek yoghurt, fresh fruit and a squirt of honey.
Thanks to Linsey for visiting with us and for sharing her book with our readers.

I go for a walk in the scenic beauty which surrounds me.
When I need a break I take a walk or go for a bike ride since I live right off a bike path that follows a river. It is beautiful and quiet usually.
When I need to take a break, I get out a good book and read!
There are a few things----read, knit or take a walk.
Take a walk or read.
How big of a break? A break in the day? Walk, read, maybe play a computer game. Big break? A trip to the tropics where the salty air and heat make the symptoms of my illness almost disappear.
Take a nap.
When I need to take a break, I like to read mysteries.

I seldom need a break but, if I do, I take a walk.

When I need a break I read or take a walk, depends on the weather!
When I need a break I usually just get a book and a glass of wine and have some me time!
When I need a break, I grab a book and go sit in a corner of the couch. It’s pretty fabulous.
