Spotlight and Giveaway: A Dangerous Age

A Dangerous Age by Kelly Killoren Bensimon is now available in trade paperback. To celebrate, Gallery has TWO copies to give away!

A DANGEROUS AGE (Gallery Books; February 28, 2017; Trade paperback), the intoxicating fiction debut, from Kelly Killoren Bensimon is set in the dog days of a Manhattan summer, and centers around a fierce foursome of women. This is a sophisticated, indulgent and delicious novel of contemporary New York City that women of all ages will devour.

Four best friends who once took New York by storm are secretly falling apart at the seams. Lucy’s marriage to a renowned artist is slowly crumbling, with an explosive secret that threatens them both. Sarah, in the middle of auditioning for an auspicious new television show, realizes that her socialite standing is in jeopardy after countless disastrous events. Billy—a queen in the kitchen—has finally left her former life behind to become a highbrow cuisine artist. And Lotta, a knockout downtown art dealer, spends her free time guzzling cocktails in both the grittiest and most expensive clubs around town—but now, she’s taken it a little too far.

A DANGEROUS AGE is an addicting and refreshing comedy of manners reminiscent of Edith Wharton. Lucy, Sarah, Billy, and Lotta go to all ends to hide their troubles in a city that worships only the young, twenty-something it-girl. Glitz, glamour, and soirees abound in this delightful debut.

A Manhattanite herself, Kelly indulges us with not only posh designers, famed settings, and socialites, but she also introduces the Twitter-scape to the mix. The result is a fresh reinvention of a woman’s novel bringing light to the obstacles women face in the 21st century.

“[A] sharp novel… it’s Sex and the City meets The Age of Innocence.”
In Touch Magazine

"This is the next beach book, especially for chick-lit fans and those who enjoy the TV show Sex and the City."
Library Journal

  1. I didn't know The Devil Wears Prada was going to be made into a Broadway show. That would be fun to see. I loved Confessions of a Shopaholic, so I think that would make a fun play too.

  2. I can't think of anything things right now as far as a book to be made into a musical, it's too early in the morning for my brain to be working. Thanks for this very generous giveaway.

  10. How is Bridget Jones's diary not a musical yet? Or maybe Marian Keyes - Watermelon. While I didn't love the self-deprecation of the character much, it would make for entertaining fodder in a song and dance.
