We're pleased to have Kathryn Biel visiting us today. Telling stories of resilient women, Kathryn hails from upstate New York and is a spouse and mother of two wonderful and energetic kids. In between being Chief Home Officer and Director of Child Development of the Biel household, she works as a school-based physical therapist. She attended Boston University and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from The Sage Colleges. After years of writing countless letters of medical necessity for wheelchairs, finding increasingly creative ways to encourage the government and insurance companies to fund her clients' needs, and writing entertaining annual Christmas letters, she decided to take a shot at writing the kind of novel that she likes to read. Her musings and rants can be found on her personal blog, Biel Blather. She is the author of Good Intentions (2013), Hold Her Down (2014), I'm Still Here (2014), and Jump, Jive, and Wail (2015). Her latest novel is Killing Me Softly and she has THREE e-books to share with some lucky readers anywhere in the world!

Synopsis of Killing Me Softly:
Sadie Perkins has a sixth sense about things—especially people dying. Her clairvoyance has never bothered her until she starts to believe that her visions are causing the deaths of those around her. After her latest relationship ends ... badly ... Sadie swears off love for good. While searching for an uncomplicated life, Sadie finds her hands full not only with a home renovation project but with defending herself against suspicion of murder. There's a fine line between predicting someone's death and causing it. Has Sadie finally crossed that line?
Enter contractor Max Schultz, who is not only good at working on houses, but he's good at working on Sadie too. Much to Max's dismay, as he's trying to win Sadie's heart, he finds Sadie's first love, Henry Fitzsimmons, is back in the picture, snooping around.
Sadie doesn't know which way to turn or who to trust, including herself. Can Sadie clear her name and open her heart all at the same time?
In one sentence, what was the road to publishing like?
The road to publishing was shorter but much steeper than I ever anticipated.
Do you base characters on yourself or people with whom you are close?
Aspects of my characters may be based on myself or those around me. For instance, Sadie’s clairvoyance is something I also have experienced, as has my dad and my cousin Cahren. Generally, if the character is outrageous, they are not based on someone in my life. I wouldn’t want to do that to anyone. Well, unless they really deserved it. (just kidding)
What is one piece of advice you'd give to an aspiring novelist?
Hang in there because it doesn’t happen over night. (Must keep repeating this to myself.)
Which TV show, book, or movie reminds you most of your own life?
Gosh, this one’s tough. Everybody Loves Raymond is what springs to mind. Not sure what that says about my life.
If you could live anywhere in the world, besides where you’re currently living, where would it be, and why?
Somewhere in a beach house on the ocean. I truly, truly love Cape May, New Jersey, but would settle for Fort Meyers Beach in Florida as well.
What is your favorite month and why?
December because of Christmas and my birthday. I enjoy a change of seasons, so I enjoy winter most when it is fresh and new and snow doesn’t make me want to hibernate. I love the way everything looks all decorated and festive. Plus, again, my birthday. :)

Yes, I am pretty perceptive, which can be good and bad sometimes! :)
No. I can't say I ever have predicted anything.
Yes. When I was a teenager, it was in full force and not good. It was horrible because no one ever believed me. I still have some o the ability, but I have missed a couple of big things.
Not really!
Yes. I have pretty good intuition.
no, not really
No, but it would be kind of handy.
I am sure I have although I can't remember a specific instance.
I know I have but I can't remember what it was. Not a huge thing.
