Between Yale University and Columbia Law School, Elyssa has written for several publications, including Modern Bride, New York Magazine, Columbia Journalism Review, CBS MarketWatch.com, Yale Alumni Magazine, and Your Prom. She grew up in New Jersey and currently lives in New York City with her husband and young children. You can find her at her website, Facebook, and Twitter.
Elyssa is here today to throw that above-mentioned party for Evie while helping us celebrate our blogoversary and Chick Lit Month at the same time. Thanks to Wunderkind PR, she's sending one guest from the US home with a copy of Love and Miss Communication. We hope you'll be able to put down your phones and get off your computers for a while so you can spend some time with Evie. (I'm currently reading this novel and have been laughing out loud.)
Celebrities to be on the lookout for:
Tina Fey and Sheryl Sandberg because they are both accomplished and amazing and Evie would love them. Emma Stone, because she would play Evie in the movie so she could shadow her for the night.
Check out Evie's style:
Evie's not really a fashionista - she's pretty grounded and practical so I'm giving her a little black dress and classic heels.
What you'll be eating:
Nothing from the menu of her ex-boyfriend Jack's restaurant.
Do you have restraint?
The theme of the party is "no technology." In honor of Evie's year off from the internet, everyone has to leave their cell phones in a bowl upon entry. Guests have to actually talk to each other without checking Instagram every two minutes.
Need some party decor ideas?
Well, I don't want to give any spoilers away, but let's just say Evie knows a thing or two about style. The party will be very elegant. White flowers, silver accents.
Stick around for this!
Sam, Evie's grandma's beau, will be doing stand-up.
Thanks to Elyssa for hosting a fabulous party and to Wunderkind PR for sharing her book with our readers.

I honestly don't think I could give up any technology. It's the only link I have to to communicate with people.
ReplyDeleteThat's easy--cellphone, no question, have done it without difficulty.
ReplyDeleteI could give up my tablet. Not my phone which I always swore I wouldn't need or use. :)

I think I could give up Facebook
ReplyDeleteI could give up Twitter if I had to. It would be a tad difficult, but I do think I could manage.
ReplyDeleteProbably my iPad!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a smartphone; so, I would probably be ok without my basic phone for a few days such as at a B & B where there's no cell service. It would be hard to not use a computer for a couple of days, but I have done so and survived. It takes a lot of catching up.

I use Twitter more for work than personal communication, so I could give it up if needed.
ReplyDeleteI could give up my kindle. I still prefer real books anyway.
