Synopsis:
Katherine Whitney has it all. She’s married, has two daughters, is the COO of a multi-billion dollar company, and with the release of her book on work-life balance, she is not only a media darling but she is a hero to working moms everywhere. In reality, though, Katherine’s life is starting to fall apart, and her loyal assistant Lucy Cooper is the one holding most things together. But when Katherine does something unthinkable to Lucy, Lucy is faced with a difficult decision. THE BALANCE PROJECT: A NOVEL (SparkPress April 28, 2015) is a story of loyalty, choices, and most of all balance as it explores the hot-button issue that all women struggle with.
Here is the beautiful cover we've been waiting for! (The cover we originally saw on Amazon was darker and just had a red baby carriage surrounded by greenery. While it was cool, this official one is so much better!)

Great interview. I enjoyed hearing where your twitter handle came from. I always wonder how people come up with their names.
ReplyDeleteWhat stood out the most to me is that Melissa is as talented as I always thought she was! She manages to take care of it all and admits that sometimes something has to give. It's real. And she also loves books and doesn't like uucckky jobs. I can relate.
ReplyDeleteI had to google her favorite artist, Jaime Cullum!! I haven't heard of him. And I love that Melissa thinks having it all is Overrated! So do I!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds intriguing and special. A complex character and great sotry. thanks. saubleb(at)gmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteI am right with you on wishing you could have someone come in and organize your home for you! I am generally able to get things organized but I'm helpless when it comes to keeping it that way!
ReplyDeleteI was surprised to learn that we both struggle with organization! I'm a mess!
ReplyDeleteWhat stood out for me was that Melissa is able to read 3 books at once. I've never been able to do that but sometimes I wish I could!
ReplyDeleteTwo things...the twitter handle and how it came about and I'd love to outsource my organizing, too.
ReplyDeleteI've known Melissa Amster for quite some time now and I am completely amazed at how well she manages to balance her life, her family, her blog and her spirituality. She is a truly lovely lady and I am so thankful for her friendship.
ReplyDeleteI've always did wonder about Melissa's twitter handle. Very clever! Also liked her reference to Mary Poppins. I think most of us wished we had a Mary Poppins to help us quickly organized and clean the mess. Glad she has found a job that she loves. I don't like using the phone but then I have a reason--hearing-impaired. I've had some stressful times when I was asked to do some phone work when they knew I was hearing-impaired. Sheesh!

her personal motto was interesting
ReplyDeleteGlad to know that I'm not the only one who needs help in the organization dept!
ReplyDeleteI loved the story behind the Twitter handle. So sweet and meaningful!
ReplyDeleteOrganization seems to be everyone's bane and it is mine for sure.
ReplyDeleteThe Twitter handle story!
ReplyDeletewas great learning her personal motto/saying...really good one!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally with Melissa on the having-it-all myth!
ReplyDeleteLove when she said picking her favorite book is like picking your favorite child. LOL This is so true!!!
ReplyDeleteWith the interview - I had to chuckle with the "balance" portion about organizing - don't we all wish we had Mary Poppins pop in! And who cares if your basement is organized - the basement is the basement!
ReplyDeleteLoved your interview! It was very cool hearing how you got your twitter handle. I always wondered what it meant. :)
ReplyDeleteThat she would spend her extra hour reading. Awesome choice !
ReplyDeleteNice cover design. I'll have a peek at it.
