We're pleased to feature House of Wonder today and thanks to Penguin Random House, we have one copy for a lucky US reader!
From the author of Can I Get an Amen?, Sarah Healy, comes HOUSE OF WONDER (NAL Trade Paperback Original; September 2, 2014), a warm-hearted novel that explores a woman’s relationship with her unconventional family.
Growing up, Jenna Parsons never felt that her family was strange. Her mother was a former beauty queen and her twin brother Warren was just a silly kid—but when her mother’s shopping habit intensified and Warren became more weird than odd, Jenna felt she needed distance from her family.
But years later Warren calls her back home and she’s surprised by what she finds there. Her mother had hidden her troubles well and Jenna is challenged in a way she never expected. As she stands by the family she left, she finds much more than she bargained for—maybe even a new future.
Sarah Healy lives with her husband and three sons in Vermont, where she works in marketing consultancy. Visit her online at at her website, Facebook, and Twitter.

ReplyDeleteThat, and looking at pictures from my childhood.
Hearing music that I grew up listening to.
ReplyDeleteMovies, or TV shows from my youth and early marriage (1946 to probably 1970 -- maybe later for movies). The music of my youth and early marriage also makes me slightly nostalgic. (1950's - which really extended to about 1964).
ReplyDeleteI also have pictures on my wall of my children when they were young -- and WOW my wedding picture, hubby and I look like kids!

Visiting my hometown makes me feel nostalgic.
ReplyDeletetwo things make me nostalgic.
ReplyDeleteMusic... if I hear a particular beach boy song, I can still smell the cold air in my neighborhood growing up. Music is one of the only things that can awaken my pathetic memory. My kids marvel that I cannot remember what I told them 5 minutes ago but I CAN remember a song from 40+ years ago!
the other thing that makes me nostalgic is seeing pictures of my kids when they were really young (now 15 and 17). It makes me a bit teary to think how fast time is going.
