Maddy Carson is a Script Supervisor for the hit TV show The Wrong Doctor. I immediately pictured Grey’s Anatomy. And McDreamy.
She also has a rule of not dating actors even though she’s been texting Adam, a co-star from The Wrong Doctor.
Maddy is from a small town called Wolf Country. I love small towns. I immediately pictured Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls. (Clearly I watch too much TV.)
Wolf Country is in trouble: shops are closing down and Maddy’s Mom and Dad worry that they’ll have to move. Maddy does not want anything to happen to her hometown, so she figures, hey, why not do a reality show set in the town?
However, most people know that reality shows are not real, so if it happens, will the show be true to the town? Or will it turn into a table-flipping Real Housewives debacle?
I liked Maddy. She’s a strong woman who knows what she wants. It can’t be easy to be in Hollywood where everyone seems to be a size zero. Scared Scriptless also gives you an inside glimpse of what it is like to film TV shows—it was intriguing. I look forward to reading Alison Sweeney’s next book!
Thanks to Hyperion for the book in exchange for an honest review.
