What could be in YOUR mail?

A Little Something Different by Sandy Hall

Sandy has one book for a lucky reader in the US or Canada!

Lea and Gabe are in the same creative writing class. They get the same pop culture references, order the same Chinese food, and hang out in the same places. Unfortunately, Lea is reserved, Gabe has issues, and despite their initial mutual crush, it looks like they are never going to work things out.

But somehow even when nothing is going on, something is happening between them, and everyone can see it. Their creative writing teacher pushes them together. The baristas at the local Starbucks watch their relationship like a TV show. Their bus driver tells his wife about them. The waitress at the diner automatically seats them together. Even the squirrel who lives on the college green believes in their relationship.

How to win:
Tell us about a catalyst that led you to meet your significant other (ex. missing a train and having to get the next one, which led you to meet them) OR your favorite way that a couple got together in a TV show or movie (keep in mind there may be spoilers if you're reading the comments below).

One entry per person.

Entries without contact information (e-mail address, Twitter account, Facebook page, etc.) will NOT be counted (and we do NOT count "Google +" as contact information).

US/Canada only. Giveaway ends August 13th at midnight EST.

  2. I met my husband online. I was going to ignore his comment online but something told me to respond. We met and he turned out to be from the same town I'm from. 10 years later we are still VERY happily married with 2 kids. I'm glad I listened to my inner voice. Had I not responded, I may not have met him. (laura.p.bryant-1@hotmail.com, Laura P. Bryant, @brya9386)

  4. I love the moment where one from a couple that is meant to be together meets in a way like one runs over the other and things explode then the other one helps picking up things then they slightly touches each other's hands then they both look into the eye with an unexpectedly electrifying magnet of attraction.

  5. Ha ha ha! Well I was married to an airmen in the USAF and so I was with him in Oklahoma. Crazy long story short, things went bad fast so I divorced him. While still living in Oklahoma afterwards I went to a mutual friends house since he was the only friend I knew. There I met Jonathan who was the friends roommate. We dated and then lost touch and a few years later we found each other again, dated and got married! The end of August will be our one year anniversary!

  6. Met my husband on a blind date. My friends felt sorry for me because I was not dating anyone and neither was he. Needless to say it was a success. We will be married 46 years in November.

  7. I graduated college, my husband graduated from a different college and it was 1998. A huge company in our area was hiring as many people as they could for Y2K. We were placed in the same training class on July 6, 1998. We knew that day that we were going to be a couple. The next year, just four days shy of having met/being together for a year, we were married on July 2, 1999. We always say Y2K brought us together and love has kept us together. xoxo

I have friends who met in home room in junior high school. They broke up when he did not ask her to the prom in high school. Years later, they finally got back together.

  9. I was moving to a different city so James, a co-worker of ours, was moving in with my roommate to take my place. At the last minute, I decided not to move, and asked my roommate if it would be ok for me to keep living with her and James, who was scheduled to move in that weekend. There was an extra room so they both said SURE! And about a month later, James and I had a bit too much wine, ended up getting together, and 14 years and 2 kids later, we are still happily married!

  14. My husband and I were a blind date!
My girlfriend kept telling me she knew someone who was perfect for me and wanted to give him my number. I kept saying no, I was not ready (I had just gotten a divorce).
After several weeks of her asking me I finally gave in!

I agreed to pizza and a movie - four months later we were engaged - another four months later we were married!
After 20 years we are still very happily married! I guess my friend knew after all!
