Note from Melissa A: I met Pam when I joined a Hadassah group in early 2005. A while later, I left the group and we stayed in touch. I took my son to see her when she was performing children's music at a local park and I still play her CD for my kids from time to time (when I'm in the mood for "kid music"). Her songs are upbeat and funny (similar in style to Laurie Berkner). We lost touch after that, but then reconnected via Facebook, where I found out that we both like How I Met Your Mother, Glee, and--of course--chick lit. (And now we're talking about Orange is the New Black.) She and I disagree when it comes to The Princess Bride vs. Somewhere in Time, but we can't be expected to have EVERYTHING in common, right? Anyway, she's really nice and I'm glad we're still in touch!

How did you find Chick lit Central:

What are your top FIVE favorite Chick Lit Novels:
That's almost as bad as asking me my fave song. I'll give it a shot. I'll probably think of others but these come to mind right now. The Time Traveler's Wife. Maybe not chick lit in the true sense of the word but the author, Audrey Niffenegger is a chick professor. Also, I LOVE this book. Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen, Good in Bed (love Jennifer Weiner), Bitter is the New Black (also love Jen Lancaster & she's from the Chicago area), and Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, the quintessential chick lit novel.

What do you do when not reading:
Watch too much TV. Volunteer for Hadassah and the Sisterhood of my synagogue. I'll be starting choir rehearsals next week for my synagogue too (Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur). Try to work on my own music. Have a couple of songs I'm attempting to write and I'm stuck. Sometimes I need to give it time and come back. I keep saying I want to get back to doing my children's music performances but never seem to find the time. I did self produce a children's CD called "Menagerie" a few years ago but I've been giving those away now, though I recently received a $10 check for downloads. Woo hoo! (Check me out on iTunes). My son did my web site years ago and I haven't updated it but here it is anyway: www.pamherstein.com.
