It's a blissful holiday with Mary Kay Andrews....plus a giveaway
Mary Kay Andrews is the author of the New York Times bestselling Ladies' Night, Spring Fever, and Summer Rental, (all from St. Martin's Press), as well as Savannah Breeze, Hissy Fit and Little Bitty Lies (all HarperPerennial). This past October, she published a new holiday novella, Christmas Bliss (reviewed here), that is perfect for our theme this month!
A native of St. Petersburg, Florida (and a diplomate of the Maas Bros. Department Store School of Charm), she started her professional journalism career in Savannah, Georgia, where she covered the real-life murder trials which were the basis of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.
As a lifelong ""junker"" the author claims to know the location of every promising thrift store, flea market and junkpile in the southeastern United States, plus many parts of Ohio.
She has a B.A. in newspaper journalism from The University of Georgia (go Dawgs!), and is a frequent lecturer and writing teacher at workshops and book festivals.
Married for more than 36 years to her high school sweetheart, Tom, she is the mother of two grown children and she divides her time between a restored 1926 Craftsman bungalow in Atlanta and a rambling old beach house on Tybee Island Georgia. (Bio adapted from Amazon.)
We're glad to have Mary Kay here, as a lot of our readers love her books. She's also getting us into the holiday spirit today! And thanks to Tandem Literary, we have a copy of Christmas Bliss, along with bookmarks, recipe cards, and an ornament for a lucky US reader!

Favorite holiday from any time of the year: Christmas!
What is a tradition you partake in for this holiday?
I love decorating our home with the vintage Christmas ornaments I’ve collected from estate sales and antique shops over the years. My collections include snowmen, Santa figurines, elves and glass Shiny-Brite ornaments.
Favorite memory from this holiday:
Our first year as a married couple, which came less than a month after our wedding. We were starting new lives in Savannah, spending the holiday away from our families for the first time, but making our own, new traditions.
Favorite song related to or from this holiday:
Christmas, Baby Please Come Home, by Darlene Love.
Favorite movie about or including this holiday:
White Christmas
Favorite food to eat during this holiday:
My neighbor’s homemade fudge, which she faithfully gifts us with every year. I have to hide it from my son if I want to have any.
What do you like most about this holiday?
Spending time with close friends and family, reminiscing about good times and creating new traditions.
Thanks to Mary Kay for visiting with us and to Tandem Literary for sharing her novella with our readers.

I celebrate Christmas, but really don't have any traditions.
We celebrate Christmas. I love everything about the season but my favorite is going to Midnight mass on Christmas Eve.
We celebrate Christmas. Our tradition is spending time with extended family on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day.
I celebrate Christmas. We spend the day decorating together and then on Christmas Day we all open gifts at the same time.
We celebrate the Birth of Christ at Christmas. Usually have a nice meal and read the story from the Bible then let the kids open their gifts.
Blessings

My favorite Christmas tradition is Christmas Eve dinner and movies with the family.
I celebrate Christmas and Festivus!
We go to my aunt's house, usually on the first Sunday of December, to make divinity. We usually make enough to cover her queen-size bed, and start on covering a second bed. Then we all take what we want from the batches. I send a lot of it to a friend in Wisconsin, along with home made peanut brittle, and sometimes, home made buckeyes.
On Christmas Eve, my older son & his family come to our house for dinner & gift exchange. After that is out of the way, we stay up til around midnight or so playing board or card games. Christmas day is just my younger son, husband & myself. We open our presents then chill out the rest of the day.
Christmas..I love having my whole family over! We play games and eat and open gifts.
We celebrate Christmas by going to our home town's Christmas festival.
I celebrate Christmas but now that the children are grown with kids of their own, we follow the traditions that they are now setting. After all, it’s their turn!
I celebrate Christmas . Our traditions revolve around family. We hang our stockings on the mantle and play Christmas music while we decorate the tree. We buy a family ornament each year and watch holiday movies on Christmas Eve.
I love Christmas more than the average bear. My tradition is to put out all my vintage decorations from my Mom. I mix them with the new stuff. I love Mary Kay Andrews books!
I celebrate Christmas. My grandson and I put out my Dickens Christmas Village which stays out until end of Feb. We call it Winter village.
Christmas. Love to sing!
We celebrate Christmas the Saturday after Christmas Day so that our grandkids can spend Christmas Day at home with their parents. As far as traditions, we have a family dinner and my girls have started baking goodies to give out to friends. It is a lovely time of year!
I celebrate Chanukah. Love the family feast, songs, and stories. saubleb(at)gmail(dot )com
My favorite winter holiday is Christmas. After Thanksgiving, I set the radio channel to the station that plays Christmas carols. I put out some decorations and put ornaments on a small tree. I love taking a small bite of plum pudding, tradition carried on by my mother who was born in England.

We celebrate Christmas. On Christmas eve we have a buffet style dinner and have a family game night.
We celebrate Christmas. The whole family gathers, including my youngest daughter's in-laws who live with them. It used to happen in our house, but now it usually takes place at my oldest daughter's house, which is the biggest one. Both girls do all the cooking and we bring wine and a snack.
Christmas. I love how the family comes together for the food and the fun time of just all of us being together..
We celebrate Christmas but really don't have a lot of traditions. We do like to bake during the holidays so I guess that's a tradition.
My family celebrates Christmas. Since my daughter is grown, married, and would rather us make a contribution than make gifts to her & her husband, we adopt a couple of kids off of 'Angel' trees.
I celebrate Christmas and love having oyster stew at midnight after the candle lighting service at church.
We celebrate Christmas. I love attending Christmas Eve Mass with our sons and neighbors. Merry Christmas to you!
We open our gifts on Christmas Eve.

We celebrate Christmas but don't really have any traditions yet. Things have been really unsettled for us and we haven't had the chance to make any.
