  1. My dog is amazing and I love her to death. She was there for me when I needed her most. She's always there for me when I'm sick and need some comforting. She's never really done anything heroic but I think she's just a hero every day for cheering me up.

    Thanks!

  6. This is more about a mothers love for her child then anything. A few summers ago, my mother and I had a mother Duck and her 6 ducklings walk by the front of our house. We were a good distance away from the lake so this was not a normal thing. About an hour later we saw them walk back towards the lake. The issue was we only counted 5 ducklings. So after 45 min of searching for the missing baby, we found him hiding in a bush. We were able to get a small bucket to keep him in and when on the hunt for the family. After 3 hours of looking for them, we were just about ready to take him to the wildlife rescue when we tried one last time by the lake. It was the best feeling in the world to finally find the family. Uncovering the bucket he started to make some noise. The family was heading in the opposite direction but the Mother stopped as soon as she heard her baby. I let him go in the water. I've never seen a duck move so fast, but they both raced to each other. So as My Mom and I watched the family reunion that might have never taken place, we couldn't stop the tears. I'm very close to my Mom so sharing that moment meant a great deal to us. Even though we were the one's making a difference in an animals life, they gave us a wonderful memory. No matter what animal, fur feathered, scale or skin, seeing your Mom when you need her the most is the best feeling.

  7. I used to have 2 cats, and they were there with me when I was going through breast cancer treatments. When I was feeling blue, they were around, purring at my feet or curled up in my lap, and it just made me feel better. :)

  8. My childhoood bestfriend and her family raised seeing eye dogs for the first year of the dogs' life then gave the dogs back to the foundation. We all were deeply attached to this beautiful, black labador retriever, Patsy. We missed her presence when she went back to the foundation for training. However, we could not hep but smile knowing she was going to change someone's life!

  9. I do remember (vaguely sorry) a story on the news when I was in Australia about a little girl who was bitten by a snake and her dog rescued her. Thankfully the snake was not poionous and both the little girl and the dog were fine.

My cat "slickerdoodle " was my hero when she caught a mouse that had gotten into our apartment. I cannot stand mice and I am afraid of them. She caught it within 5 minutes of us first spotting it...thank God. She is the best!
