Today, we welcome Jennifer Daiker. Jen is a Houston-based writer, and when she’s not engrossed in her laptop she can be found enjoying the latest episode of The Real Housewives. She also spends her days devouring great reads, and having strange conversations with her two cats and overly patient husband. Thanks to a dream of trying every profession, she put pen to paper and realized while writing, a person truly can have it all.
She has one e-book of "Valentine Delights: Be Mine" (which contains her short story, "Latte Love") to give to a lucky reader anywhere in the world!
Visit Jen at her blog, Twitter, Facebook and Still Moments Publishing.

I'd just jumped out of the shower, hair damp, body wrapped in a towel, and my husband beckoned me. I walked out to a wall of colored printing paper blocking me from the living room with a poem attached. Needless to say I cried...and he was down on one knee, teary-eyed too.
Guy you would date from a chick lit novel:
Dan Calebow from "It Had To Be You" by Susan Elizabeth Phillips.
Favorite Valentine's Day memory:
The year I had rose petals in my bathtub... any year that happens will be labeled my favorite.

1. My boyfriend at the time took me home to Vancouver for the weekend where we both were from. I always thought he would propose on some special occassion, or during a romantic dinner, or something, but nope. My guy took my to the cemetary! Sounds so creepy and unromantic I know, but it was the sweetest, most romantic way he could have done it. My mom had died of cancer a few years back, but I was still having a tough time dealing with it, and I he knew I hated the idea of facing getting married, having kids, etc etc without her. So.....he decided to include her in the whole ordeal. He made me think we were just going to leave flowers for her, and then once there, got down on one knee and whipped out the ring. By the end, we were both sobbing like school girls. It was perfect! And 11 years later, we're still together, with 2 wonderful kids!!

My Marriage Proposal--My 30th Birthday ( also the last year of college--ya ya it took me awhile) --my than boyfriend and High School friend surprised me with a limo and trip to San Francisco for Dinner and fun--well the limo driver was nuts and first we ended up at San Quinton--umm prison so romantic LOL than finally hours later and way to drunk to actually have dinner we ended up in SF. We went into a bar and I was carrying on to my BF BFF about how I was going to be single forever blah blah blah while my BF was trying to get me to come outside--finally annoyed I followed --where he went down on one knee to propose--total surprise.

Fun post, Jen. I'd challenge you to rock, paper, scissors for Dan Calebow.
And Kim W, wow. That is so sweet. Your hubby sounds cool. I won't tell about my pitiful proposal because it was my own fault I refused to go out and had the ring dumped in my lap. LOL
But, I was in Grand Central Station last year and witnessed a sweet proposal. There is a spot there, the architecture designed perfectly so one person can stand on one side of a large foyer and speak in a whisper to a person standing twenty yards away on the other side. My sisters and I just happened to be there as a young guy 'placed' his girlfriend in the perfect spot, told her to 'stay', then crossed the room to whisper his proposal.
Since people go there specifically to check out the odd sound game, there was quite a crowd. Cheers erupted when she finally got over her shock and raced across the space to tackle him. Still makes me smile.
I'm a follower and I always twitter fun posts.
