We always love having authors named Melissa at Chick Lit Central, not that we're biased or anything. ;) And this one takes the cake. Keep reading...
Bestselling author Melissa Hill lives in Dublin, Ireland. Her latest book "Something from Tiffany's," spent five weeks at the number one spot in Ireland, and the Italian editon "Un Regalo da Tiffany" spent eight weeks at the top of the charts in Italy.
Melissa's books are translated into 20 different languages including French, German, Finnish, Latvian, Spanish, Norwegian, Portuguese, Brazilian, Thai, Hungarian, Czech, Croatian & Turkish.
Hailed the "queen of the big plot twist," her books combine all the warmth and humor of contemporary women's fiction with plots that keep readers guessing from page to page.
Melissa is here to tell us what she finds so amusing. She also has three copies of "Something From Tiffany's" to share with lucky readers anywhere!
You can find Melissa at her website, as well as on Facebook and Twitter.
Funniest chick lit novel?
Sophie Kinsella's "The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic"
Funniest book character (chick lit or any kind)?
Becky Bloomwood from the "Shopaholic" Series
Funniest thing that happened to you recently?
I dressed up as a Spanish senorita for a fancy dress party, but everyone seemed to think I was there selling roses...
Funniest misunderstanding?
My sister recently bought a house and when I enquired if she'd got a good deal, she texted me to say that she'd got a great discount and a ride on mower. I stupidly thought she meant that the agent had given her a spin around the grounds on a mower, when of course she meant a 'ride-on mower.' We had a good laugh over that.
Favorite humorous quote? (from a movie)
"Don't call me Shirley." from "Airplane!"
Funniest TV or movie character?
Frank Drebin from "The Naked Gun." His delivery is so good that he can say anything and it's somehow hilarious
Favorite joke?
What do you call an Italian with a rubber toe?
Roberto!
Funniest TV show?
"Raising Hope"
Funniest song?
"Smurfin' Beer" by Father Abraham and the Smurfs. Can you tell I have an eighteen-month-old?
Thanks to Melissa for amusing us and sharing her book with our readers!

Melissa Hill sounds delightful! I'm gonna have to add her books to my "list".
ReplyDeleteI love in the movie "Julie and Julia" when Julia Childs (Meryl Streep) says T"hese damn things are as hot as a stiff ****!". It's vulgar - but that's what makes it so funny! It was completely unexpected.
