"Twenties Girl" by Sophie Kinsella:
Lara has always had an overactive imagination. Now she wonders if she is losing her mind. Normal twenty-something girls just don’t get visited by ghosts! But inexplicably, the spirit of Lara’s great aunt Sadie – in the form of a bold, demanding Charleston-dancing girl – has appeared to make one last request: Lara must track down a missing necklace Sadie simply can’t rest without.
Lara’s got enough problems of her own. Her start-up company is floundering, her best friend and business partner has run off to Goa, and she’s just been dumped by the love of her life.
But as Lara spends time with Sadie, life becomes more glamorous and their treasure hunt turns into something intriguing and romantic. Could Sadie’s ghost be the answer to Lara’s problems and can two girls from different times end up learning something special from each other? (Summary courtesy of The Official Website of Sophie Kinsella.)
Melissa P:
Anyone who knows me well, knows that this is pretty much my all time favorite book. The Roaring Twenties have always intrigued me and I often think I was born in the wrong era. The story is sweet, fun, and sometimes sad. I was never annoyed with the characters or the story. The costume descriptions are great too!

I've read a couple of books by Kinsella and really enjoyed them. I'm adding this one to my ever growing TBR pile. Thanks for the recommendation.
This is the one book by Sophie I haven't read but I too have always loved her stand alones better than the shopaholic series.

I read this book last year. Its one of my fave works by Sophie. I loved the way Sophie brought back the 20s' in a 21st century girl. Lara and Sadie's convos are funny especially when Sadie starts screaming and makes Lara dress up for her first date with Ed.
Another reason that drew me to it (albeit minor) was the mention of Goa. I am from Goa and became more curious when I saw it on the blurb.
Overall I really enjoyed this one and I find Sophie's stand alone novels much better than her Shopaholic Series....but maybe that's just me! :D :D :D
(I deleted the prev post coz i forgot to add email addy)

I looooooooved this book! It took me a little bit to actually get into it, but once I did, I fell in love. I think it's my favorite Kinsella novel so far. I also loved Undomestic Goddess :)

LOVED THIS BOOK! Reading this book made me want a dragonfly necklace like the one on the cover haha
I love Sophie kinsella's books!
Twenties Girl was a second attempt at reading Sophie Kinsella. I liked the book and was ready to give her another chance.
I *loved* this book!!! It was rather different from the other Kinsella books I've read (which is almost all of them, hehe), but it was so much fun! My best friend and I both read it, and were cracking up - I was ahead of her, so when she'd catch up with me we'd have hilarious conversations. Great book to read over a summer - whether by yourself or with a chick-lit-loving girlfriend :o)

This was the first book I read on my Kindle. I absolutely loved it - engaged all my emotions and I remember the story really well (a huge giveaway for loving it really). Definitely recommend!

I have read many of Sophie Kinsella's box but I haven't read this one yet - considering I'm just about to turn 40 - Twenties Girl might be a good book to read next!

I love Sophie Kinsella, and a novel about a ghost from the 1920s following the main character sounds like a great read!

I've tried to read two of Kinsella's books, and was never able to get into them! I hate to admit that, since I am a chick-lit lover, and she is one of the pioneer's of chick-lit! But I am always eager to give her another try, and maybe this book would do the trick!

I really like Kinsella, but this is not my favorite book by her.

I love the Shopaholic series, i must add this to my reading list
This is a good one. If I could go back to any decade, it would probably be the twenties. I'm just fascinated with the 20's style, glamour, flapper girls, etc. One of my favorite books. =)

I did enjoy this book, but not as much as other books by Sophie, I guess because it was a bit different so maybe unexpected. Still a great book though.
