"On Mystic Lake" by Kristin Hannah:
Annie Colwater's husband has just confessed that he's in love with a younger woman. Devastated, Annie retreats to the small town where she grew up. There, she is reunited with her first love, Nick Delacroix, a recent widower who is unable to cope with his silent, emotionally scarred young daughter. Together, the three of them begin to heal. But just when Annie believes she's been given a second chance at happiness, her world is turned upside down again, and she is forced to make a choice that no woman in love should ever have to make...(Summary courtesy of Kristin Hannah's website.)
Melissa P:
This was just a great story all around. I knew I would like it because I like all of her books, but I wasn’t prepared for how much I ended up loving it. I still think about the story and the characters all the time.
Melissa A:
This was the second book I read by Kristin Hannah after falling in love with "Firefly Lane." Her beautiful storytelling style was evident in this novel, as well as countless others (including the ones I read after this one). I was hooked from page one and I loved how she created realistic conflicts for her characters and gave them a lot of depth.

I love those stories where someone goes to a small town to rebuild their lives. They always build new and strong friendships. Sounds like a good story!

Love the sound of this story where they all begin to heal and hopefully the strength helps to deal with the crisis that comes along.
Thanks to Linda for reminding me about libraries! It's about time I paid a visit.

This book sounds great and reminds me a bit about my own life as I grew up staying on a lake every summer at my grandparents camp, inherited the camp when they passed away, and then my husband died......I would love to read this book!

I have a few of Kristin's books in my TBR pile, but I have yet to read one. I hear great things about them though, so maybe I will bump them closer to the top. I'm always on the lookout for a new-to-me author that I can obsess over :)

I love the Nicholas Sparks style "small-town/second chance at love" stories! Sounds right up my alley!

I love a book where you still think of the characters long after you've finished the book - as i have a memory like a sieve it takes a truly great book for that to happen for me but following Melissa's review I'd be keen to read this one - hadn't heard of the author before

My mom's a huge fan of Kristin Hannah, but I haven't yet read any of her novels. I'm getting ready to start on Winter Garden so I'll have to read this one next!
