Chick Flicks are Chick Lit too!

Despite what you might think otherwise, chick flicks have either been based off chick lit novels or the screenplay was written with a female audience in mind. So it does have its basis in chick lit in that sense. Sometimes it's easy to envision how a chick flick would look as a novel. It's also easy to want to cast chick lit novels as movies and see how they would play out.

In honor of a very well known chick lit novel making it to the big screen this summer..."Something Borrowed" by Emily Giffin, that is...we both decided to share our top 10 favorite chick flicks. We're also listing books that haven't been made into movies, but should.

  2. I Heart NY would be a great movie! I also heard there was a possibility for Enchanted Inc., one of my favorites, to cross over into movie world. That would make me quite happy. :)

  4. Oh, I agree with both Melissas on so many of the movies. Loved "27 Dresses," "Legally Blonde," "The Devil Wears Prada," "Sweet Home Alabama," and I'd love to see "The Cougar Club" as a movie, too (thanks, Melissa P!). Maybe the French will get to it first, as their version of TCC--Le Club des Cougars--will be out from J'ai Lu in June! I think it would be fun to see it with subtitles. ;-) Great post, ladies! I'm going to have to share! :-)

  5. I agree wholeheartedly! Chick flicks are like chick lit for the busy chick. Not everyone has the time, or inclination, to curl up for hours with a great book. Chick flicks can help satisfy that craving for warm and fuzzies! I adore almost every movie listed on here.

  6. Clueless is great for someone in the mood to laugh as well as someone in the mood to analyze. A brilliant piece.
